About Me

I am a certified rug hooking teacher whose main objective is to teach my students to create art with fiber. Whether you enjoy folk art or fine art you can create a hooked tapestry by pulling up one loop at a time. I have worked with many textile arts but found that rug hooking gives me the greater artistic flexibility that I was seeking. My love for home, family and the colonial period is what drew me to rug hooking artistry but as a young mother of seven children there was little time for creativity. Now that my children are grown and I can spend more time with my art, it has evolved, and I love working in a more modern style. My early formal training is in advertising and design. I am proud to have had my rugs published in Celebration of Hand Hooked Rugs 20, Celebration of Hand Hooked Rugs 24, Hooking Animals and Design Basics for Rug Hookers.
My love for children continues and I seek to help orphaned children and the parents who adopt them by serving on the board of directors of Love Cradle International.
I currently teach rug hooking in my home, at Lancaster - Pennsylvania Guild of Craftsmen, at Tyler Park Center for the Arts and have taught periodic evening classes at the local school, homeschool groups and at various activities sponsored by local guilds.
It is my joy to help others find a relaxing way to fabricate art.
